We keep domain prices lower than GoDadday so you know you're always getting the best deal! Our current prices can be seen at https://www.esmartstores.com/WebsiteHosting/domainchecker.php
Our late fees, if applicable, can be seen here: https://www.esmartstores.com/WebsiteHosting/knowledgebase/50/Late-Fees-Payment-Actions-and-Notification-Emails.html
IMPORTANT: Please keep in mind that after a domain expires, it will enter a redemption grace period for a varying amount of time during which ICANN will apply an ADDITIONAL $80.00 - $150 (Ours is $80) Expiration Recovery Fee on each unrenewed domain name. We have no control over ICANN fees. Once the redeption period passed, domains will be released to the public for purchase by anyone.
Many times domains are usually scooped up by domain pirates who hold them for "ransom"; usually for a minimum of $1,200 each. Sometimes pirates release the domains within a week or two but, there have been cases where they hold them for years. As an example, www.TheHag.com was owned by our client, Merle Haggard, who didn't renew it. A pirate held it for almost 10 years then someone else bought it for unknown reasons; maybe as in investment, maybe to take advantage of traffic it generates.
Expiration timeline
Days after domain expiration | What happens and what you can do |
---|---|
+1 day | We'll try to auto-renew it, or you can manually renew for the standard renewal price. |
+5 days | We'll try to auto-renew again - but if that doesn't work, your domain gets parked: your site and email stop working. But you can still manually renew for the standard renewal price. |
+12 days | We'll try to auto-renew your domain one more time. You can still manually renew for the standard renewal price. |
+19 days | Domain goes on hold: it's still in your account but inactive. Manually renew with applicable redemption fee. |
+26 days |
Domain goes to auction. If there are no active bids on the domain, you can still manually renew for the standard price plus the applicable redemption fee. |
+30 days | If no active bids in the auction, the domain stays in your account but now it's expired. You can manually renew for the standard price plus the applicable redemption fee. If there's an active bid at auction, the domain can't be renewed. |
+36 days | Domain goes to a final closeout auction. Until there's an active bid, you can still manually renew for the standard price plus the applicable redemption fee. Once there's a bid, you can't renew the domain, but you can place your own bid. |
+41 days | Final closeout auction ends. You can still manually renew for the standard price plus the applicable redemption fee. |
+72 days | Domain is removed from your account and you can't renew it any more. You may be able to register the domain after the registry has released it, but we can't advise when the registry will release a domain for registration. |
* Some domains, such as ccTLDs, may have special requirements for renewals.
